We’re so busy at work that we just can’t get our heads around any serious blog-o-rama at the moment (it’s the lead-in to Shirley Hannan 2012.)

So we’re going to drop in some lovely eye candy for intermission…the next leg of our most recent dash to Burma…

After Bagan the Gang flew to Sittwe on the west coast, ahead of a seven hour boat trip up river to Mrauk U, the ancient capital…

…what might have otherwise proved tedious (time-wise) was pleasantly interspersed with luncheon…

…general boat spotting…

and dedicated languishing…

We arrived at the Princess Resort after dark and woke up to this…

Our stay was spent exploring the environs of Mrauk U…

…particularly further upriver…

…visiting Chin villages…

…and doing the rounds of the temples…
