Bali gl-arse…

The Gang checked out the glass scene in Bali (as we do wherever we are) and found it….less than ideal. Pretty bloody tragic, actually.

We knew there was a hotshop near Ubud, so we took off on a mission – in search of both the glass and a silver workshop for Ging. Unfortunately we went on a Sunday and had to endure 10 hours of frigging traffic – which somewhat dampened any possible enjoyment of the destination….once we eventually found it.

First up though, was the silver place…

…our first glimpse of the horrors to come. Our driver completely misunderstood what we were looking for and kept taking us to glass ‘shops’…

…and then, just as mutiny threatened to erupt in the car, we found it – Ron Seivertson’s Horizon Glassworks…

What can we tells ya? It was a very nice showroom…

We wish him luck in his venture.

More to amaze and stupefy you here.

It’s a wrap…

Those flapping rumours have come to roost –  Megsie will indeed be finishing up at the BVRG in 19 sleeps.

[And after half a decade we reckon she’s earned 5 purple hearts. n(Ed)]

Meanwhile she’s just sorting out grant acquittals and installing the next exhibition before swinging into the saddle and riding into the sunset. ‘Why’ has been the constant enquiry – perhaps we can best sum it up visually, with a piece the Gang acquired at the recent ANU School of Art Grad Show…

Shaun Hayes fabbo ceramic piece pretty much says it all, eh.
