Glassie Spotto: Omigod! Wendos! In Bega!!…

Darlings!! What can we tells ya – there we were in the Niagra Café, grabbing a quick takeaway cappuccino (double shot) when there was a tap on the shoulder…and there was dearest Wendos!! Out of the blue. Serious excitements – except that we were in the middle of the two day New Black  mentoring workshop, and were about to drive a busload of very cool dudes out to Penders for the second day of the program. So it was a serious bummer, cos we could only spend 5 mins max before we had to roll-’em-out-move-’em-on-rawhide (Megsie was driving the bus, lookout.)

But oh! how wonderful to see her (pictured above with Michael and her main Canadian squeeze, Andrew), if only for a nanosecond.

Come back soon, Wendos!! We loves ya.

Tour de Force: the install…

Well, the Gang’s got loads of shots, but we don’t want to hit the straps prematurely and spoil the opening (Feb 11th). So just as a little tease we’ll show you a few snaps of the lovely peeps at artisan (formerly Craft Queensland) who were doing the installation.

Upgraded security at the hideout…

Yes, well. We wandered down to the little Wyndham market yesterday for some taties and peaches and came back with…Coco. Too cute for words – there were 11 in the litter and the kelpie-chocolate lab X is fast becoming the town dog by all accounts (everybody’s got one!)

Post script: update on name – we discovered (courtesy of the veterinary nurse) that Coco is the vogue name of the moment, so we’ve had a rethink.

She’s now called Hazel.

Postcard from Seattle…

Just in from our fave man about town, James Minson.

Darls,

two years after my lovely blue chandelier was busted by the head of a rather tall gallery visitor, I gathered the strength to dust it off and put it back together again. The Lost-in-Space-Robot-like dome on top is a candy dish that came from an op shop on the south coast. I think the robot dome is the all important feature that takes it out of a medieval tavern an into the space age. I made the chains in Turkey so it truly has been around the world.

Cheers, James. XXXXXX

Thanks darling, love it!

We’re ba-ack!!

The Gang’s back from Brisvegas (where we’ve spent the last week installing Tour de Force) and once we’ve sorted through the myriad snaps we’ll post some for your general titivation.

Meanwhile we’re making out like normal peeps for the first time in ages (yep, finally got that catalogue essay off our back) and enjoying yer classic Australia Day weekend. Jacqu arrived down yesterday with our fave sparkles, so we’re off to a great start.
