The Gang finally had time yesterday to go out to Luna’s studio at ANCA Mitchell to make a (small) beginning on some new work. Luna herself, of course, is overseas at the moment (either in Holland as we speak, or languishing on a beach in Crete) and it was really strange being in the studio without her. So unnatural in fact that we decided to evoke her presence, if only virtually. 

This series of photographs was taken last month while she was working like a loon on her upcoming exhibition, Mamana Mamanta (gradual friendship), in collaboration with Tiwi artist Jock Puautijimi – which will be showing at Craft ACT in November/ December. She’ll be back in about 10 days for one last burst of finishing before the install…
