One of our all time faves (bloke and artist), Alex Asch, is showing at Beaver Galleries in Canberra…

Olivia’s opening at Beaver…

1 06 2008

Olivia Bernardoff, (top) Thin country and (below) Salt Bush. Oil on canvas.

Well, we were a little off track when we surmised that Olivia’s show would have a coastal/bush bent! It was, instead, extraordinarily varied and, as evidenced by the rapid accumulation of red dots, a huge hit with the punters. There were plenty of coastal bods up for the occasion however, and the added bonus of an Anna Eggert show in the adjoining gallery. So it was a most enjoyable evening all round. The Gang forbore from scrambling across to the clashing doo at the Canberra Glassworks – it was the first birthday ‘celebration’ and, by all accounts, a repeat of the galah event of a year ago (ie. interminable self-congratulatory speeches and a crush of free-loading suits.)

The show will be up until the 9th of June.

Upcoming gallery rounds in the ‘Berra…

19 05 2008

The Gang’s looking forward to a bit of culture in the little-big-smoke this coming week. Our old mate Olivia Bernardoff has an opening at Beaver Galleries on Thursday night and, given that she and Giles have been spending more and more time down at Wapengo, we figure we’ll probably be in for a bit of a coastal-bush thematic…

…but there’ll be no complaints from us on that score.

And then it’s off to Gorman House the following night for the Erica, Ellis and Carla show…

…which will morph into Erica’s big 4-Oh! Our jolly bag runneth over.
