It’s been a big week at BVRG, as change-overs generally are. In the aftermath of the Bega Art Prize, the SEAR People’s Choice votes were counted and Wallagoot artist Bernard O’Grady scored a double whammy for his painting When I was the sky itself (having already snaffled the Mailroom Prize.)
And Steve Fox dropped off Michael Williamson’s ceramic works for the foyer vitrines along with Megsie’s portrait by Shaun Gruber…
Then it was pack up of the old and in with the new; the installation of the Bernadette Foster (BVRG’s inaugural ANU EASS Award) and Matthew Jones show (coincidently last year’s recipient of the Far South Coast Living Artist Project Scholarship), thoughtworks.
The exhibition, opened on Friday night by Gordon Bull, Head of the ANU School of Art, fell victim to foul weather…
but the faithful turned up nonetheless…
Didn’t manage many good snaps – it was the end of a very long week. Meanwhile the show is gorgeous and we’ll bring you a walk around the gallery later in the week.
