‘Klaus Moje: Glass’ rolls into Bega…

Friday night saw the final Australian chapter of the travelling Klaus Moje: Glass/Living Treasures: Masters of Australian Glass show. The exhibition is having one last hurrah at the Bega Regional Gallery – to give the locals a thrill – before the lot’s packed up and shipped off to the States.

From here on in it will join a complementary exhibition which, headlined by The Portland Panels: Choreograhed Geometry 2007  [go to search, for earlier post ‘The master ups the ante’], will showcase selected works from a number of significant American private collections. This ‘mega solo’ will tour the Portland Art Museum in Oregon (opening on the 31st of May), the Toledo Museum of Art, and finally the Museum of Arts and Design in New York (where it will feature at the grand opening of the MAD’s new digs in 2009.)

Meanwhile, back in rural Bega, a very pleasant evening was had by all; Nigel Lenden was the guest speaker for the launch, there was a good turn out of local notables, and the work looked great despite the ghastly fluoros (what an amazing extreme it was, after last week’s soothing Earth Hour!!)

The night finished up on a cosy note of wurst und kartoffelsalat over at Wapengo. Mugshots at…

  1. Attn. Klaus Moje
Klaus I was in Houston, Tx. in early 80 and 90’s as a glass dealer. I never showed
your work because Habatat had control over your work. I moved at the end of the 90’s to Santa Fe, NM where I am at the present. I opened another glass gallery just recent. I am interested in getting in contact with someone like you that can help me to get some of the Australian artists in the gallery. I did have some of Borella’s work at one time. I bought it at an auction. There are a few Australians showing here with another gallery. I would like to represent about 3-4 tops there. I need a contact that will help me with that. Can you help me with that? I know there is another guy,Richard Whiteley who is in charge of some things at the university. I have looked at several artists from there on the website and tried to contact them but no answers. My website:www.judyyouensgallery.com. I hope that you will contact me. Judy Youens
